About Alexander Calzadilla

Alexander Calzadilla is a Cuban male originally from Philadelphia, who has happily called Miami his home since moving here at the age of 15. He attended Southwest Sr. High School and Florida International University, ultimately receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. While in college, he began working as a paralegal for the Law Offices of Jeffrey E. Reichenbacher, a position he kept for seven years after graduation. He subsequently worked at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius Associates before landing at Costa Nursery. After distinguishing himself with many accomplishments, he was promoted to the position of Director of Specialty Products, which included the orchid, bonsai and lucky bamboo departments. When Alex was first put in charge of the three departments, they ranked near the bottom. By the time he left Costa after seven years, Alex had transformed the floundering departments into unqualified successes, posting record earnings, sales and profitability. In 2008 Alex was named the Costa Employee of the Year. Alex now puts his formidable prowess as a businessman into his newest venture, Avant-Garde Home Furnishings, LLC, serving as Managing Partner.

The Oasis of Biscayne in Miami

So all of you have probably herd me say especially during this past weekends grand opening party the name Oasis off Biscayne and many of you are probably like what on Earth is he talking about.. Well I am talking about the beautiful tropical bamboo gardens fully restored by Avant-Garde and Beauty Alchemy Inc of Miami as a place to go and just forget about the stress of everyday life, grab a haircut over at the Pure Beauty Salon, sit outside and relax and even buy a piece of furniture or two, well actually our show room is not due to open its doors til at least March..

So where is the magical place, this so wonderful stress free place, well its located at 811 NE 79th Street and its being called the Oasis off Biscayne by close friends and new business neighbors Alexander of Avant-Garde Home Furnishings, LLC, and Cassandra, owner of Beauty Alchemy INC. Alex and Cassandra have gotten close in the last few months and are making plans to expand and grow their business with each others help. Both are young high energy Gemini and get along super well and indeed work very well together often more then not thinking about similar ideas to incorporate into the gardens at the Oasis ofgf Biscayne. They have worked very hard to bring about this beautiful tropical Oasis with beautiful plants, landscape designs, and Water features.

More news on the future of this place to come soon but lets just say both Alex and Cassandra not only plan on being here for some time but plan on increasing their utilization of the property one day envisioning a grand Oasis from 79th Street all the way to the neighborhood in the back and open to everyone to come, sit, relax, maybe have some tea, wine, a smoothie, or something else.. Not really sure for now... But one thing wean say is that this place is beautiful.. Here see for yourselves and please let me know what you think about the place..
