About Alexander Calzadilla

Alexander Calzadilla is a Cuban male originally from Philadelphia, who has happily called Miami his home since moving here at the age of 15. He attended Southwest Sr. High School and Florida International University, ultimately receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. While in college, he began working as a paralegal for the Law Offices of Jeffrey E. Reichenbacher, a position he kept for seven years after graduation. He subsequently worked at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius Associates before landing at Costa Nursery. After distinguishing himself with many accomplishments, he was promoted to the position of Director of Specialty Products, which included the orchid, bonsai and lucky bamboo departments. When Alex was first put in charge of the three departments, they ranked near the bottom. By the time he left Costa after seven years, Alex had transformed the floundering departments into unqualified successes, posting record earnings, sales and profitability. In 2008 Alex was named the Costa Employee of the Year. Alex now puts his formidable prowess as a businessman into his newest venture, Avant-Garde Home Furnishings, LLC, serving as Managing Partner.

More cool modern furniture...

More really hip
modern furniture..

I found the following pieces of furniture to be very trendy, hip, and a great accent to any of our modern homes.. We always try to come up with the most unique items for our homes that will stick out and well I am telling you here they are.. The following items are amazing

Enjoy the pictures...
I wish I could fit them all...

Oh. Em. Gee. We know it might sound like we reuse this phrase a lot, but we have sincerely never seen anything like the designs coming out of Jory Brigham Design. They are big and rounded and almost animated. They all just seem so dang happy! Corners are rounded, leg height exaggerated, materials mixing and matching. It’s all creating some pretty freaking cool pieces. This style might not fit in everyone’s tastes; in fact they have an almost child-like innocence to them that would actually look great in a kid’s room — but we bet plenty of grown-ups could find spots for these pieces.

Great designs with great color, and can you imagine how much more lively and fun they would make any room..

Liquid looking items..

Nuvist Architecture & Design is a firm out of Istanbul, Turkey creating some really stunning modern pieces. Sometimes we’re not always into really organic shapes because they feel a little contrived, but these all feel really genuine and honest. We love how the glossy material contrasts with the organic, fluid shapes, which seem to take their inspiration from water’s fluidity. We also love all the bright colors the pieces come in.

Stunning pieces.. I love the vibrant colors in high gloss.. These pieces say unique and special and I assure all of you anybody who has this in their home is known...

A great accent piece....

What a lovely little nugget of good design and practical function. Darin from urbancase just emailed me about one of their new pieces the sidebar: “designed by Darin Montgomery and Trey Jones for urbancase — the sidebar is the first in a series of collaborations with Teroforma known as Crafted.” We love how simple and stylish this piece is. A resplendent rectangular case on tapered legs, the handcrafted cabinet features a laterally sliding panel revealing adjacent compartments for liquor and glass storage. A drop-front drawer houses bar tools, and a pull-out drawer below stashes peripherals (napkins, stirrers, olive picks, cocktail recipes).”

“Offered in two variations. Walnut: solid walnut base, face and sides, with staggered dimensional surface; white Corian top. Liquor compartment interior features an allover incised diamond pattern repeated in the tool and storage drawer. The pattern, a reference to tuck and roll upholstery, nods to vintage luggage and handbags. Corian: White Corian cabinet showcases the diamond pattern on exterior face and sides, in the tradition of upholstered bar fronts. Interior compartments are walnut with no decoration

Absolutely stunning and would make a great addition to any room, dining, livingroom as a TV stand, bedroom, bar area.. Very Versatile design piece...
