IKEA is a one stop shop on all items for our everyday modern, contemporary homes. 

Part 9 - Home Decor


IKEA as we have seen has something for every room in the house. But as we will see in this podsting, it also features something to accent and decorate every room in the house. From Candles, to paintings, to frames, to desks, chairs, tables, lamps, etc, etc, etc.. IKEA has everything for our modern homes and at unbelievable prices. As stated in my first posting, every couch, lamp, or chair will NOT be named after someone but it will look identical to the 10,000 or 30,000 named couch we have seen so many times in those high end designer magazines or interior design magazines. 

Will it look the same yes, will it feel the same, most likely not, will it be as comfortable or more so.. of course. So in the end we get a comfortable ulternative that looks just as good and costs 10 times less.. I am sold.. IKEA is doing very well because of these types of ideas and with the economy the way it is, in my opinion it will continue to do so. 

IKEA presents us with a way to live modern, contemporary lifestyles in a way we can enjoy them and not scream or jump everytime someone or our pets gets near our 20,000 dollar Jack Shuman (name made up) couch, or Jean Pierre (name made up) chair or some other named piece of furniture or rug in our homes we can't even pronounce. 

My philosophy is look like a million bucks but also enjoy yourself without having to spend a million bucks. IKEA gives us that chance and opportunity. Have a look at the following design ideas and concepts, all from IKEA.
